Mission Statement

The mission of Star of Hope International, America, Inc is to carry out Christian and humanitarian programs, principally involving the care, up-bringing and education of children and youth around the world as needs present themselves and resources allow.

 Vision Statement

Star of Hope International, America, Inc works to build self worth and empower youth and children, enabling them to overcome obstacles and become an adult contributing to their family, church, community, country and world. This is done by creating programs or seeking partnerships throughout the world, to carry out projects that develop knowledge, physical well being, spiritual growth and social skills, primarily in children and their families.

Names and Registered Marks

The legal name of the corporation is Star of Hope International, America, Inc.

Star of Hope and Star of Hope International are registered marks and may not be used without written permission.

Management

Star of Hope International, America, Inc is controlled by an independent, volunteer board of directors.

Financial Control & Reporting

Star of Hope International, America, Inc follows generally accepted accounting principals. The financial statement is audited by Stockman, Kast, Ryan + Co, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Audit reports and IRS 990 forms are available.

Privacy Statement

It is the policy of Star of Hope International, America, Inc to protect and respect the privacy of all users of our website. Personal information you provide through our website is for the purpose of processing your online donation and for maintaining contact with you. Star of Hope International, America, Inc employs a third party vendor (ServiceU Corporation, Memphis TN), to act as a secure online receptacle of any information required to properly and accurately process your donation. Star of Hope International, America, Inc does not trade, sell or otherwise share your information to anyone outside of the Star of Hope International partnerships.  

Statement of Non-Discrimination

It is the policy of Star of Hope International America that the organization does not advocate, support or practice unlawful discrimination based on race, religion, age, national origin, language, sex, sexual preference, or physical handicap.

Additionally in matters of disaster response we have signed the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and Non-Governmental Organizations in Disaster Relief,  which in part reads:

 “Aid is given regardless of the race, creed or nationality of the recipients and without adverse distinction of any kind. Aid priorities are calculated on the basis of need alone.”

Use of your donation

Donations made to Star of Hope International, America, Inc are tax deductible, as allowed by law, to US citizens and businesses. We strive to apply each gift to the project indicated by the donor. In rare cases,such as when a particular project is completely funded, we may apply your gift to another similiar project and for similiar purpose. For additional information please contact us. 

Significant Happenings:

  • Star of Hope International, America, Inc was incorporated in the State of Florida on Sept 11, 1987. 
  • The IRS granted 501(c)(3) tax exempt status on June 8, 1990 retroactive to the founding date.
  • 2002 Star of Hope International® moved its principal place of business to Ellinwood Kansas.
  • 2007 Haiti Love and Faith Ministries entered into a joint working agreement
  • 2008 The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted a certificate of Registration for the name Star of Hope International.
  • 2008 Evangelical Child and Family Service, Salfordville Pennsylvania entered into a parntership agreement to support a project in Haiti
  • 2010 The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted a certificate of Registration for the name Star of Hope.
